Kimberly Smith Spacek

Kimberly Smith is Head of Capital Formation at TechStars. She is responsible for the firm's fundraising and investor relations activities as well as new business development.

Previously, Kimberly was a Partner/Director of Marketing and Investor Relations at Owl Creek Asset Management, L.P., where she was responsible for managing relationships with Owl Creek’s investors and forging new relationships with prospective investors. Additionally, Kimberly was a member of the Owl Creek Risk Management Committee. Prior to joining Owl Creek, she was in Client Service at Davidson Kempner Capital Management, LLC, where she was responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with institutional investors, high net worth investors, funds, and investment advisors. Prior to joining Davidson Kempner, Kimberly was an Assistant Vice President at ABNAMRO Securities Inc., Global Futures Group, where she worked on the global futures marketing effort in addition to trading coffee, sugar, and cocoa. She began her career at Ziff Brothers Investments.

Kimberly received her M.B.A. from Fordham University and her B.A. from Middlebury College. Kimberly is the Chair of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Investment Committee at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. She is also a Trustee of the Bridge Golf Foundation and the Group for the East End.
